Scoring Guidelines

Individual Division

Ski Race - Each Elite Individual competitor is guaranteed two runs through the giant slalom course. The lowest "best" score will count, while the worst of the two times will be thrown out. Then, a weighted average of each competitor's best time will be calculated. This basically calculates how far you finished behind the leader's score. A 5% handicap will be given to both snowboarders and female competitors. Handicaps are combinable. If a racer fails to finish (DNF) one or both runs, he will be assigned the highest time of all competitors in his division for any DNF runs.

Golf Competition - Individual entrants will play a gross score only. We then use a weighted average to determine a final golf score. Again, the weighted average will be used.

Final Scoring - At the end of the competition, the ski and golf weighted averages will be combined to determine an overall winner. In the extremely rare case of a tie, the winner will be the person with the best score in either discipline. If a tie is still not settled by this format, scores will be compared on the lowest handicapped golf holes.

Team Divisions

Ski Race - Each team member is guaranteed two runs on alternating giant slalom courses. The best run of EACH team member will be combined and averaged for a team time. Next, a weighted average is computed based on how close your team was to the fastest team. The team divisions will incorporate the use of handicaps for giant slalom scoring. A 5% handicap will be given to both snowboarders and female competitors. Handicaps are combinable. If a racer fails to finish (DNF) one or both runs, he will be assigned the highest time of all competitors in his division for any DNF runs.

Golf Competition - Teams will play either a two or four person scramble. All teams must use a minimum of four drives from each team member. At the end of 18 holes, team results will be gathered and a weighted average golf score will be developed. No handicaps will be used for team divisions during the golf competition.

Final Scoring - At the end of the competition, the ski and golf rankings will be combined into an overall weighted average that will determine the final scores. In the rare case of a tie, the winner will be chosen by by determining which team has the lowest ranking in either golf or skiing. If a tie is still not settled by this format, scores will be compared on the lowest handicapped golf holes.
